Ingredients
The Essentials:
-
4 cups ripe watermelon, cubed and chilled (seedless preferred)
-
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, loosely packed
-
Juice of 2 limes (freshly squeezed for best flavor)
-
1/2 cup cold water or coconut water for a tropical twist
-
Ice cubes, for serving
Optional Enhancements:
-
1-2 teaspoons honey or agave syrup (if your watermelon isn’t at peak sweetness)
-
Sparkling water to top off for a fizzy variation
-
Mint sprigs & lime wheels for garnish
-
A pinch of salt (yes, really—it enhances the sweetness and replenishes electrolytes)
Instructions
For the most refreshing experience, ensure your watermelon and water are well-chilled before blending.
In a blender, combine watermelon cubes, mint leaves, lime juice, and cold water. Blend until smooth and vibrant pink.
If you prefer a refined, smooth cooler, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher. If rustic and pulpy is more your style, skip this step.
Depending on your watermelon’s sweetness, stir in honey or agave. Add a tiny pinch of salt to enhance the natural flavors.
Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour in the cooler, and if desired, top with sparkling water. Garnish with fresh mint and lime wheels for that extra wow factor.
