Mini Caramel Apple Dippers


Ingredients

  • 23 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 bag soft caramel candies (about 11 oz)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • Toppings: crushed peanuts, mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, crushed pretzels
  • Lollipop sticks or toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Wash and core the apples. Slice them into thick wedges.
  2. Pat apple slices dry with paper towels. Caramel won’t stick to wet fruit.
  3. Insert sticks into the base of each apple slice.
  4. Melt caramel candies with cream in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  5. Dip each apple slice into the warm caramel, letting excess drip off.
  6. Roll or sprinkle with toppings while caramel is still soft.
  7. Place on parchment paper and let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Always dry your apple slices thoroughly. Any moisture kills the caramel’s sticking power.
