American Flag Hot Dog Board: A Festive Fourth of July Centerpiece


Ingredients

  • 16 hot dog buns, sliced on top

  • 16 hot dogs, grilled or boiled

  • 1 bag of blue tortilla chips

  • White cheddar or mozzarella cheese, cut into star shapes

  • Condiments: ketchup, mustard, relish


Instructions

  • Prepare the Board: Use a rectangular serving board or tray.

  • Arrange the Buns: Place the hot dog buns in horizontal rows across the board, leaving a square space in the top left corner.

  • Create the Stars Field: Fill the reserved square with blue tortilla chips.

  • Add Cheese Stars: Cut the cheese into star shapes using a small cookie cutter and place them on top of the chips.

  • Cook the Hot Dogs: Grill or boil the hot dogs according to your preference.

  • Assemble the Hot Dogs: Place each hot dog into a bun and arrange them on the board to represent the stripes of the flag.

 

  • Serve with Condiments: Provide ketchup, mustard, and relish on the side for guests to customize their hot dogs.

Notes

Ensure the cheese stars are cut thick enough to hold their shape but not so thick that they’re difficult to eat. Using a firm cheese like white cheddar helps maintain the star shape.
